This term refers to a “naming ceremony”, a kind of non-religious baptism conducted by a “celebrant”. In the wake of this, the daily newspaper evokes the decrease in the number of children from the archipelago being baptized in twenty years.

The couples who call on these services are young parents with humanistic or spiritual values, without belonging to a religious institution. Their goal is to mark a passage in their lives, namely the birth of their child, who usually is between 6 and 8 months old, but can sometimes be 3 or 4 years old.
