It is interesting to note that the Arabic word for the human being is «insan,» which is derived from the word «nasiya,» meaning «to forget.» This indicates that it is in the nature of humans to forget and make mistakes, and Muslims believe that humans should be aware of this and quickly repent if they make mistakes, without dwelling on the matter afterward, as everyone makes mistakes.

In Islam, the term “insan” is associated with the human nature, which is prone to forgetting, making errors, and weaknesses. However, it is also linked to the ability to build connections and to love, to become close to someone, and to interact with others. Thus, while acknowledging the imperfect aspect of human beings, Islam encourages awareness of their mistakes, sincere repentance, and the seeking of reconciliation and mutual love with others. This perspective on human nature promotes kindness and tolerance towards imperfections and mistakes committed by each individual while encouraging the pursuit of personal improvement and the repair of interpersonal relationships.
